Is Content Marketing Productive?

 Content marketing is probably one of the most thriving types of marketing. What makes it different from other marketing techniques is that you know it’s from Content marketing when people actually want to consume it; when it gets people’s attentions genuinely and people try to seek it out. This may sound like the golden goose of marketing but it’s not as easy as it looks. It takes time to get the hang of it because you have to figure out the right content to present to the market you want to pursue and you have to present at the right time. Also, its process just generally takes time. But when you got it, fruitfulness is on the way. Still, there are some things that can prevent productivity. So, the next four things are the things that kill content market productivity. 1. Too much guessing. It’s alright to be creative, but sometimes the answers to our questions are right before our eyes. It kills your productivity since you are not sure if your idea will work or not. Instead of guessing how and what to put in your marketing presentations, there are some data that can help you with that; what works, what doesn’t and what didn’t. It’s usually a guesses vs decisions situation. Be creative, but be wise, too. 

2. Coordinating writers and content contributors is tough. First and foremost, gathering the right writers and contributors can already be a challenge in itself, much more managing and maintaining them. It also takes time to designate, systematize and oversee assignments like creating outlines, writing, editing, reviews and design simultaneously and see if everything gets one step closer to getting done. Some companies that use content marketing handle these through e-mails and spreadsheets, but that can be chaotic and complicated because things get mixed up. Marketers should use project management tools to help them organize and deliver contents efficiently, faster and clearer. 

3. Too much content, not enough views. You release a lot of contents but people are not looking into it. Since content marketing, as mentioned above, is the marketing technique that people actually look into, and people are not buying your content marketing presentations, there must be something wrong. You may not be streaming your presentations in the right channels. Ensure that the streaming channels you use are being used by your target market. 

4. Trouble coordinating content and demand generation teams. All companies are different, content is sometimes under the trouble coordinating content, sometimes under demand generation team and at other times it’s just on its own. Content must be handled by both teams and it will a huge problem if they are not connected to each other. Tasks can be done twice or not at all. Presentations can be disconnected or cannot make any sense at all. One team must know what the other is doing. They can help with each other’s strengths and weaknesses.
